Here's the coupon policy for the new WinCo grocery stores in Arizona. You'll notice that they are pretty much just like any other grocery store that accepts manufacturer coupons. There are really only two things to take note of, first of all they don't accept competitor coupons like Walmart and second they don't triple or double coupons (then again no one really does anymore, only Safeway and Fry's come close by increasing all coupons to a $1.00 value).

WinCo Foods Coupon Policy

We do not double or triple coupons; WinCo has a one(1) coupon per item limit. If a coupon has been used with an item, no other coupon may be used with that item and no other item may benefit from that coupon

WinCo Foods does not accept competitor’s coupons

All coupons must scan properly

Coupons must be presented along with the item purchased

No cash back for coupons with a higher value than the item’s purchase price

No mass-cut coupons

No photocopied or visibly altered coupons

Customer is responsible for all sales tax

Coupons cannot be purchased, sold or transferred

WinCo does not accept internet coupons that have the following conditions:

Free product without a required purchase

A redemption value exceeding $5.00

*WinCo Foods reserves the right to deny any coupon at any time.

To read their full coupon policy visit http://www.wincofoods.com/customer-service/faqs/#coupons.

Or to get information about the two new Arizona locations, go to http://www.wincofoods.com/about/locations/arizona/

Right now they also have a Facebook contest where you have the chance to win a $50 WinCo gift card just for picking your favorite Cheerios Mix recipe. You don't even have to have a Facebook account in order to enter (just click the picture below to see the contest).

Okay if you haven't yet checked out WinCo Foods, you just might be missing out (by the way there are only 2 Arizona locations – both on Bell Road).

I went for the first time this past week and I was both surprised and impressed. Although I don't care much for big box stores anymore, WinCo looks like it could be the perfect grocery shopping option for individuals as well as families, both large and small. I originally thought they were like a CostCo, Sam's or a Walmart but I was wrong.

Here are some of the things I found very interesting about WinCo:

They have some very low everyday prices on a variety of standard items (for example Nature's Own bread for .98 cents and Fresh Express 50/50 mix salad at $2.98 for a large 10oz container)

They are an employee owned company

They have a green initiative and actively manage their impact on the environment

No membership OR store loyalty card is required to shop there

They do not accept credit cards – only cash, check, debit and EBT transactions (really if you think about, that makes it easier to stay within your grocery budget)

They're open 24 hours

They have bulk foods that you can purchase by weight (things like tortellini pasta and even Cheetos type cheese curl snacks)

You bag your own grocery purchases (don't worry, they do provide you with bags)

THEY ACCEPT MANUFACTURER COUPONS (my next blog is about their coupon policy)

Although there were many other things that were unique about WinCo, I'm still reeling from the fact that they had DOLE bananas for .28 cents per lb (and I think that's their everyday price)!

What's your opinion – do you think more stores will follow suit with the grocery model that WinCo's has created?

Buying a Sunday newspaper isn't for everyone. Here are some reasons I've personally heard for not regularly purchasing a Sunday paper:

The expense

The back log of papers that eventually clutters your home

Being in a location where you can't get home delivery

You only want the sales ads anyway

Well here's a website that provides you with links to all of the major stores shown in the Sunday newspaper. Sunday Saver gives you the ability to see the sales ads online for all your favorite stores – and it's free! Sunday Saver could even save you, when you bought a Sunday paper and then mistakenly disposed of it before you pulled out the ads. Sunday online sales ads could just be the way to go?

The 3000 Club Food Rescue is a national (and international) non-profit organization that distributes reclaimed food. There are many groups like this one working to make fruits and vegetables accessible to everyone, especially low income families. For those of you new to the process of reclaiming produce, it is produce that is salvaged after being turned away from grocery stores and markets because of imperfections or because it is deemed as damaged. There are even times when entire cases of produce may be rejected because the items at the top are imperfect. The interesting thing is that much of this produce is perfectly good but it is still sent away to be destroyed. Thankfully groups like The 3000 Club come in to save the day and the environment while also allowing families in need (and everyone) the opportunity to befenit from this fresh produce.

For as little as a $10 donation per event, you can receive up to 60 lbs. of fresh produce or you can opt to support them with an annual $100 donation that will reduce your per event fee to $5 (go here for the full details). You can also support them with an annual donation thru your business. If you're not sure what you'd do with that much produce – think about sharing it with your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers.

One special thing that also makes The 3000 Club stand out from other food rescue organizations is that they also reclaim unused medical supplies, nutritional supplements, educational materials and personal care products and equipment!

If you would like to support this non-profit organization please visit them at https://the3000club.org/, and for photos of some of their past events visit their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/the3000club (and don't forget to view the video at the bottom of this post).
